The Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee’s target map lists 19 Georgia legislative races, 16 House and three Senate. Georgia is one of the Democratic Party’s most targeted states in the country.

Ten of the 19 were named before the Sept. 23 update: three House races in April, four more House races in a June 16 release, and three Senate races in an Aug. 12 release. The DLCC added nine more House targets Sept. 23, which it attributed to polling showing better odds in the chamber.

In June, the DLCC said it had named its first 100 target races across 10 states. Its October Top 10 page says the DLCC is targeting more than 500 districts this year.

Laura Murvartian (SD-48) (D), whom the DLCC describes as running to flip a seat in the Georgia Senate, is on its October Top 10 list.

The Republican State Leadership Committee’s April 16 memo on its 2026 state legislative targets shades Georgia, Arizona, Texas, Wisconsin, Iowa, New Hampshire and North Carolina in its top defense battleground category, according to a map in the memo.

Democrats already hold two of the 19 targeted seats. Tangie Herring (HD-145) (D) holds one. Eric Gisler (HD-121) (D) won the other, a district a Republican carried by 22 points in 2024, by 198 votes over Republican Dutch Guest IV in a Dec. 9, 2025, special election. The other 17 are held by Republicans.

Many of the targets are close. In the 2024 presidential race, the margin was under 5 points in four of the 19 targeted districts and under 10 points in 14 of them.
