Brookhaven would keep its operating property tax rate at 3.85 mills in 2027, or $3.85 for every $1,000 of assessed value, under a proposed $45.6 million General Fund budget. That budget is up 6.7% from the adopted 2026 budget.

The City Council holds public hearings Nov. 3 and Nov. 17, both at 6:30 p.m. at City Centre, 4001 Peachtree Road NE, and residents can also join virtually. The city says the council will consider adoption after the Nov. 17 hearing.

The proposal includes money for employee pay and benefits, public safety and 911 dispatch. The proposed capital budget is $6.2 million and includes:

  • $2 million for pavement management
  • Sidewalk infill and ADA improvements
  • Construction procurement for the Windsor/Ashford Dunwoody Road roundabout
  • Street-sign replacement across the city
  • Peachtree Creek Greenway Phase II construction procurement and Phase III design
  • Design and engineering for the Peachtree Creek Connector Bridge

The full budget and a 24-page Budget in Brief are at BrookhavenGA.gov/budget. Two council members also hold community meetings at City Centre at 6 p.m.: Councilwoman Madeleine Simmons on Nov. 2 and Councilman Conor Sen on Nov. 10.
